Lesions

What is it?

Lesions: An example of Melanoma, a form of skin cancer.

A skin lesion is an abnormal growth or patch of the skin that does not resemble the area surrounding it.

How is it treated?

Some skin lesions are surgically removed to rule out or remove skin cancers. Lesions may also be removed for cosmetic purposes or to remove an inflamed cyst or recurrent infection. Suspect lesions will be sent to the pathology laboratory for examination.

Small lesions can be removed in our rooms, however larger treatments may require day surgery.
